WEEK 3 MEDIA BLOG POST (FORUM)

Instagram: Willsonville Toyota

It is a popular company, and it is a good vehicle as well. My father owned a couple growing up.
I first learned how to drive stick when I was about seven years old.

I searched this company because I hear their advertisements on 95.5 all the time.
They seem nice, and I realize that is their advertisement. Plus, my dream vehicle is a Toyota Tacoma.

This company uses Facebook, Instagram, Radio, and TV. They use these things in order to promote their brand.
I personally know that it works because it has worked on me as well. They have one advertisement on the radio that discusses their integrity.
It was the one that had me sold on the company.
They have other people, and their experiences in this advertisement. I believe that it works.
They also call back throughout the year to check up on you to see if you found the right vehicle. As I browse on their Instagram today, I am noticing free coffee. People love free coffee.
They are advertising "did some say free coffee? Whether you're searching for a new car or waiting for service to be finished on your current car, we always have free freshly brewed coffee- and an awesome espresso machine if you prefer a latte or a mocha!"
On Instagram they are showing what days they are closed, and what days that they have sales going on. There are different trucks, and different colors.
They also are discussing integrity, and I think it is pretty important within a company to note.
They had a picture of a dog, and pictures of camping stuff as well.

The target audience is people who like trucks. The company does have cars, but they are known for their trucks the most.
They are known for their long lasting trucks. Their audience includes people who like to be outdoors, and people who have values.
For me, the audience are people who like the outdoors, dogs, honesty, trucks, and a company who has integrity. I do think its working.
If it wasn't working, this company wouldn't be around. They wouldn't be doing so well either. They worked for me to. I have been into several different dealerships, and the people have always been so wonderful.
I didn't get what I wanted, but it was okay with me. It was okay with me because they were so nice. One day, I will own a Toyota Tacoma. I would say their advertisement absolutely works.

If I were a product manager, I would advertise more in the family values when it comes to commercial or pictures.
It is one thing that I did not notice as much. People value their friends and their families.
I would put more advertisement in that sort of stuff. People in Oregon love the Oregon Country Fair.
It could be an example of how to advertise the Toyota brand. It is fun, friendly, relaxing, welcoming, and family can get together.
You could take your truck and camp, or just go for a day with your family.
I did not see much family photos, so i think this is something that should be floating around a whole lot more, and I do believe it could drive up the sales for the company even more.

MEDIA BLOG FORUM 2

I went with Instagram because it was something that I used to get on in the past. I do not use Twitter or Facebook. I did not even want to sign into Instagram. I used it to show makeup photos.  Things I followed  The New York Times (I use them as a source for all my papers, and I think it is reliable) The Wall Street Journal (I use them as a source for all my papers, and I think it is reliable) #Veganadvocate (Animals deserve equal rights as humans) Vegansoul  The most interesting thing I found was a picture of two pigs. You could only see their faces. It read "Think being vegan is difficult? Try being the one on the way to the slaughterhouse." The picture that I posted is not the one I found on Instagram. I found this one browsing on the internet.  "Why did that stand out to you?" It stood out to me for numerous reasons. One of the biggest reasons is simple, and it is that I care. The second reason is I hear hateful comments left and right of how b...

Forum Week 9

WEEK 9 MEDIA BLOG FORUM QUESTIONS  TOPIC 1: MUSIC'S INFLUENCE --   As the textbook authors have noted: "Throughout its history, popular music has been banned by parents, school officials and even governments under the guise of protecting young people from corrupting influences."  Think about your own experiences in listening to music or seeing it performed. Music Influence as a Child When I was about 8 years old, my brother gave me some CD's. I think that they were Spanish music. I don't believe it was all in English. I will admit it was not appropriate for a child to be listening to. I think he also told me not to tell our mom, so I didn't tell. One day, we were at the doctors office. We were parked in the parking lot. I was just listening to music because that was something I would always do. I would always carry around a CD player and headphones. My mom realized what I had been listening to at the time. She took away the CD, and she got really ...

WEEK 8 MEDIA BLOG FORUM

TOPIC 1: BANNED BOOKS AND YOUR BOOKSHELF "To Kill a Mocking Bird." This was one of the books that I noticed on the banned list. It quickly struck my attention because I read this book during my 10th year of high school. I remember it being a very heart breaking story, and I think it also made me cry. If I am correct, I also had to write a paper on some of the passages. I think the point of reading this book was the ban on it. This book is placed in the time of the American history when racism was okay. Jim Crow laws was a horrific thing, and it also is not something that anyone should forget about it. I believe the ban on this book wasn't so much of the word choices used, but rather to try and erase the history. I don't believe it should be banned. Students should try to understand some of the things that people of color went through back then. To this day people still treat one another like crap, and this is an example of why we should be treating each other bette...
